Caribbean property market - Barbados

Barbados is a coral island created by volcanic activity in eons past. Naturally beautiful and wonderfully inviting this tropical island is home to some of the world’s most luxurious resorts. Barbados real estate has been on the rise for the past several years with the economic outlook of the property market looking very positive according to market analysts. Land prices are especially rising on the west coast of the island. The attraction to Barbados is multi-fold.

Barbados has been a leader in the tourism boom from the early days of the sugar trade onwards. In today’s offshore business era, Barbados is still forging new territory by creating a very investor-friendly environment for foreign nationals wanting a stable place in which to invest their money. Barbados real estate is also being given a big boost thanks to initiatives by the government that are investing in new commercial developments including a marina and waterfront residences at Port St-Charles, luxury residences at Sugar Hill and Schooner Bay and exclusive golfing communities at Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland – not to mention several townhouse developments all over the island.

The highly skilled and productive workforce adds to the appeal of investing on the island where labour is easy to find. As well as the superior infrastructure that the island boasts, its sophisticated international telecommunications services truly make Barbados real estate options stand out from other Caribbean destinations. Property in Barbados is also highly regarded in terms of luxury, quality and craftsmanship. The west and south coasts of the island are, in fact, home to some of the most spectacular ocean front villas found anywhere in the Caribbean. Many of these villas belong to some of the world’s greatest sporting figures and celebrities among them Tiger Woods who owns a splendid home nestled onto a quite and secluded bay in one of the island’s poshest areas.

Another reason why people keep coming back to this lovely island is the fact that its people are extremely friendly and welcoming. The local population is always ready to greet tourists and visitors to their island with a big smile and offers of help. The island’s laid back appeal, exciting night life and pristine beaches have made millions of converts through the years and will continue to do so for years to come.

The prices for Barbados properties may be somewhat high, but they are still no where near the prices that they will eventually get to as word of this paradise on earth spreads and more people discover the many charms offered by this coral island.
